How it’s calculated

Each line is quantity × rate. The discount comes off the subtotal first, then tax is charged on the discounted amount. The due date is the issue date plus your payment terms.

subtotal = Σ (qty × rate) total = (subtotal − discount) × (1 + tax rate)

Worked example

A designer billing three lines that total $1,720, with 20% VAT added, sends an invoice for $2,064. On Net 14 terms, an invoice issued on 30 October is due on 13 November.
