Project Quote Calculator
Estimate the hours, then let the calculator add contingency for scope creep and markup on any costs you pass through.
Quote
How it’s calculated
Labour is hours × rate. Contingency is added to labour only. Pass-through expenses get your markup. The deposit is a share of the final total.
Worked example
48 hours at $75 is $3,600. Add 15% contingency ($540) and $240 of expenses with a 10% markup ($264), and the quote is $4,404, with a $2,202 deposit to start.

Questions
How much contingency should I add?
10–20% is common for fixed-price work. Use more when the brief is vague or the client is new to you.
Should I ask for a deposit?
Yes. A 30–50% deposit filters out unserious clients and protects you if the project is cancelled.
Doing these numbers every month? Accounting software can automate invoices, reminders and tax reports.
